Welcome to the 2010 Season

The Roskill-Eden Hockey Club (Inc.) has a strong junior programme. We cater to all skill levels, by providing support for talented hockey players but not forgetting that many children simply want to participate in the sport. The common element is that we want everyone to enjoy themselves.

Youth Hockey starts on the weekend of 30 April 2010. The junior competition starts on Saturday 1 May 2010.

Mid-week practices commence in late March on Wednesday or Thursday evenings 6.30-7.30pm for juniors and from 7.30pm-8.30pm for Youth players. We have a good coaching staff this year, and a lot of returning players. But we are happy to accept more players so please tell your friends.

The starting age is around 5, and we have minis (generally years 1 and 2), 6 a-side (generally years 3 and 4), 8 a-side (generally years 5 to 8), 11 a-side (generally years 7 and 8) and Youth (years 9 to 13). All Junior teams are mixed (boys and girls). Youth Grades are single sex.

You can register by printing off and completing the 2010 registration form and posting as directed. Alternatively, you may bring the registration form to the Muster which will be held on Sunday, 14 March between 10:00am and 1:00pm at the Mt Roskill Grammar School Turf.

Fees

The fees for the 2010 season are as follows and they include a team photo:

• Mini and 6 a-side - $125
• 8 a-side and 11 a-side - $155
• Youth - $245

Fees are payable prior to the commencement of the season.

Uniform/Equipment

The club provides the uniforms for all teams, with the exception of socks. The uniforms are gold tops (with blue trim) and blue shorts. Uniforms will be issued on payment of fees. The socks are plain gold and can be purchased from most major sports suppliers.

Each player will need their own hockey stick and they will not be permitted to play unless they have a mouthguard and shin pads. A mouthguard and shin pads must be worn at practice as well. We maintain a pool of hockey sticks that are available to those unable to provide their own.
